The Money Across Communities
Fund & Vote
Rules & Guidelines
The M.A.C. Vote & Fund supports nonprofits that serve Philly without expectation or obligation.
To qualify, an organization must meet both of the following criteria:
Be headquartered in Philadelphia County.
– The fund is local by mission and in practice. Only nonprofits based in Philadelphia are eligible to receive it.Provide access to their services without requiring religious, spiritual, political, or civic alignment.
– Faith-based and advocacy organizations are welcome as long as participation in prayer, belief systems, political ideology, or civic allegiance is never required to receive aid.
– For example:
• A shelter that offers prayer is eligible; a shelter that requires prayer to access a bed is not.
• A yoga studio that invites mantras is eligible; one that requires specific mantras to participate is not.
• A group that promotes civic engagement is eligible; one that withholds services from those outside its ideology is not.
This criterion ensures that the money goes to organizations that offer care without coercion, and love without strings.
Nonprofits can be nominated as often as anyone wants to nominate them. There are on rules against being awarded the fund more than once a year.
Votes are tallied last day of the month. Donation will be made first week of the subsequent month.
