Mighty Writers

Our Mission

Mighty Writers’ mission is to teach kids to think clearly and write with clarity so they succeed in school, at work and in life. At our eight locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, we offer free high-quality after-school programs that improve academic performance, address educational and socioeconomic inequities, and build social-emotional skills.

During the school year, our free educational programs run every day at our welcoming and inclusive centers. In the summer, we hold multidisciplinary day camps that run six or eight weeks, depending on the site. Two of our sites are bilingual and cater to Spanish-speaking families. All of our sites host family and community programs on evenings and weekends.

Our Mighty Writers Distribution program, which launched out of necessity during the pandemic, provides fresh and nutritious food at 12 locations and gives out diapers, school supplies, books and other essential resources — all free of charge.
