The Sunday Love Project’s mission is:
to alleviate food insecurity by providing nutritious food to the community, initially focusing on serving people experiencing homelessness and now operating Greater Goods, a free choice grocery store for families and a liaison between hungry individuals and nourishment. The organization aims to ease the burden of food insecurity, particularly for parents, and foster a sense of community and resilience.
Sunday Love Project’s Greater Goods Free Grocery Store
Greater Goods is a free grocery store in the heart of Kensington. The Sunday LOVE Project opened the storefront at 3200 Kensington Ave in August 2022 after listening to the heartbeat of the neighborhood. When we saw children from the neighborhood coming to get food on the streets, we knew we had to do more.
With the help of The Greenfield Foundation, Acme Markets, and the community, we were able to open a brick and mortar location to provide food for those in need.
No appointment needed. Our only requirements are to bring ID the first time, and to bring a bag for groceries.
